Questions about monthly stays
The 30-night minimum, what's included, parking, the dock, WiFi, hurricane season and how to book. Anything else, just ask us.
- What is the minimum stay?
- Thirty nights. We let the house for monthly stays only, and the same 30-night minimum applies if you book through Airbnb.
- Can we stay for the whole winter?
- Yes, for a month or the whole season. December to April is peak season, so ask us three to six months ahead.
- How much does a monthly stay cost?
- We offer competitive monthly rates, quoted for your exact dates. Stays of six months or less are subject to Monroe County tourist development tax and Florida sales tax.
- What's included?
- The whole house: three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, smart TV and fast WiFi, fresh bed linen and bath and beach towels, a kayak, snorkel gear, beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers.
- How many people does the house sleep?
- Six. The main bedroom has a king bed and an en suite, the second bedroom has a king bed, and the third has a super-king that splits into two twins.
- Is there parking?
- Yes, for up to six vehicles.
- Can I bring my boat?
- Yes. The private dock has room for a boat up to 20ft, with a swimming platform and rod holders. Sugarloaf Marina, a few minutes away, has fuel, fishing supplies and boat rentals.
- Is the WiFi good enough to work from?
- The house has fast WiFi. If your work needs a particular speed, ask us before you book.
- How far is Key West?
- About 20 minutes by car down the Overseas Highway. Lower Keys Medical Center is about 13 miles away and Boca Chica Field (NAS Key West) about 10 miles.
- What happens in hurricane season?
- Hurricane season runs from June to November. If a storm threatens, Monroe County evacuates in phases, and visitors and non-residents, including guests on monthly stays, are asked to leave first, around 48 hours before tropical-storm-force winds are expected.
- How do I book?
- Email Sue & Graham or use the enquiry form with your dates (at least 30 nights) and how many of you are coming. We reply personally, usually within a few hours, and you confirm your booking with us directly by email.
