Monthly stays on Sugarloaf Key, Florida Keys
A Taste of Sugar is a furnished, canal-front stilt house on Sugarloaf Key in the quieter Lower Florida Keys, about 20 minutes from Key West. We rent it by the month only, so you get a proper home for the season, with a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, fast WiFi and your own dock.

The house
- Three bedrooms sleeping six.
- Main bedroom: king bed, canal views, doors to the balcony and an en suite with a walk-in shower.
- Second bedroom: king bed with water views.
- Third bedroom: a super-king that splits into two twins.
- Two bathrooms; the guest bathroom has a tub and shower.
- Air conditioning, ceiling fans and blackout curtains in every bedroom.
- Fresh bed linen, plus bath and beach towels.
Everyday living
- Open-plan living area with water views.
- Fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and indoor dining for eight.
- Washer and dryer.
- Smart TV and fast WiFi.
- Parking for up to six vehicles.
Outdoors and on the water
- Private dock with a swimming platform, ladder and rod holders, with room for a boat of up to 20ft.
- Kayak and snorkel gear.
- Shaded patio under the house with dining for six, a wicker lounge, a hammock and a BBQ grill.
- Beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers.
How a monthly stay works
Tell us your dates
The minimum stay is 30 nights. For peak season (December to April), ask three to six months ahead.
We reply personally
Usually within a few hours, with availability and a price for your dates.

Your home on the canal for the month, or the season.
Competitive monthly rates
We offer competitive monthly rates, quoted for your exact dates. September to November is usually the best value: warm water and quieter roads. December to April is peak season and books up first.
Stays of six months or less are subject to Monroe County tourist development tax and Florida sales tax.
Where you'll be
Sugarloaf Marina (boat rentals, fuel, fishing supplies) and Sugarloaf Lodge (restaurant and bar) are a few minutes away. Hurricane season
Hurricane season runs from June to November. If a storm threatens, Monroe County evacuates in phases, and visitors and non-residents are asked to leave first, around 48 hours before tropical-storm-force winds are expected. That includes guests on monthly stays. See the county's evacuation information and the National Weather Service Key West forecasts.
